About the CAPS Program
"Now what do I do?"
We know that sometimes it's hard to know where to start.
Often there are many questions that may come flooding to your mind when you first find out that you've tested positive for HIV or when you've decided to get into medical care.
CAPS can help you figure out the next steps.
Whether you simply need a phone number or help with a form, help sorting out programs or agencies, help finding a medical provider or help deciding if you need HIV case management, the CAPS Program can help.
Our program offers:
- One-on-one care advocacy
- Connection to HIV medical services
- Assistance with applying for insurance
- Positive Perspectives Support Group for People Living With HIV/AIDS
- Rapid HIV testing for those who may be infected but don't yet know it
- Free, confirmatory HIV testing (available by blood draw)
- Free primary HIV care through Ryan White Early Intervention Services at the Red Door (for those who qualify)
CAPS is the Care Access and Prevention Services Program, a Red Door Service of the Hennepin County Public Health Clinic, and is Ryan White funded. To find out more about CAPS, email us!
